For prospective students/postdoc

• Ph. D. students/postdocs

We are interested in Ph.D. students who meet the following criteria:

• • Strong background in linear algebra, statistics, machine learning, convex optimization, or signal processing

  • Adequate programming skills: MATLAB or Python

  • Good communication skills in English or Japanese, both speaking and writing

We can financially support Ph.D. students who can work on ongoing projects. If you are interested, please send Prof. Tanaka an email with your resume/CV with the list of publications.

For postdocs, we recommend applying JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships and we can support your paperwork for the application. If you are interested, please send Prof. Tanaka an email with your resume/CV.

• Master course students

Currently, we are not accepting research students (kenkyusei/研究生) unless you are eligible for a government-funded scholarship (e.g., MEXT scholarship). Also, we expect that the applicant has demonstrated strong academic achievements, particularly through publications in internationally recognized conferences and journals.

田中研では博士課程学生（前期・後期課程とも）を随時募集しています．以下のスキルがあることが望ましいです．

• • 線形代数，統計，機械学習，凸最適化，もしくは信号処理に通じていること

  • 適切なプログラミングスキルがあること．MATLAB や python（特に Pytorch や tensorflow）でコーディングできること

  • コミュニケーションスキルがあること．特に論文を執筆する上で最低限の英語が書けること
